How to Play

Play anagrams online. Turn a handful of letters into huge steals, outplay everyone in real time, and race to the top of the board.

Keyboard Shortcuts

Space (while claim bar is focused): flip one tile.
Enter (while claim bar is focused): submit/claim typed word.
Enter (while chat is focused): send chat message.

Quick Notes

Words must be in dictionary and at least the host’s minimum length (default 3 letters).
Turn jumps to the player who successfully claims a word.
Host can set flip timer, tile length (36–216 tiles), and minimum word length before the game starts.

What is a steal?

A steal means taking an existing word (yours or another player's) and turning it into a new valid word that has a new root, using extra letters from the middle.

CAT -> CATS is not a steal (same root).
MEAT -> MEATY is not a steal (same root).
BRIDE -> BRIDGE is a valid steal (new root).
TON -> TONE -> STONE are valid steals (each changes root with new letters).
Think of a steal as creating a genuinely different base word, not just a simple ending change.

My friends and I love playing word games. As life has taken us to different corners of the globe, we found it harder to satisfy our lexical cravings. So I built Anagrams, a recreation of the beloved game we spent many nights laughing, thinking and bonding over. It's a game of speed, wit, opportunism, and drama.
